Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR stands for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. It's a Program that since 1979, has been given to more then 17,000 people. Mindfulness according to Jon Kabat-Zinn is ‘Awareness that arises, by paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgmentally’. He is the creator of the MBSR training at the Center for Mindfulness at the U-Mass Medical School and introduced a form of meditation known as mindfulness.
With mindfulness, we learn to pay attention to whatever is happening in our life inwardly and outwardly. Mindfulness is a way to experientially learn to take better care of yourself by understanding the interplay of mind and body and to create a deeper sense of ease and well being. In this aMBSR training, you will be introduced to the concepts of Mindfulness, through information and experience. You will explore during the program ways how to immediately bring mindfulness practices into your life.
The training consists of eight weekly sessions of 2,5 hours and an all day practice halfway the program. There will be a fair amount of commitment asked - an hour long of daily homework and a serious intention and effort to attend all sessions. Prior to the training, you will attend mandatory orientation session – to make sure you know what it is all about!

Mindfulness is a way of being, a basic human quality of awareness that is cultivated by learning to pay wise attention to whatever is happening in your life.
In this exploration of mindfulness class you will learn about the interplay of mind and body by exploring a variety of mindfulness meditation practices and by learning about ways to be mindful in everyday life, in a playful and experiential way.
All are welcome, you don't need to have any experience with mediation to attend this class.
Introduction to Mindfulness
Four-week program, sessions of two hours each
Mindfulness can help to reduce stress and has shown to improve well being with a wide range of concerns.
In this four-week program, you will be introduced to the concepts of mindfulness and learn about the interplay of mind and body. We will explore in a supportive and playful way what mindfulness is and how to bring it into your daily life. You will be learning different meditation practices, about your own stress reactivity patterns and habits, and how to use the tools to deal with your life challenges, whatever they are.
The program has a specific built up and therefore it is recommended you attend all sessions.
No previous experience with meditation is required and beginning and experienced meditators are also welcome. The program is suitable for people with a wide range of physical abilities.
